One of most critical problems facing occupants of spacecraft or aircraft is decompression of pressurized cabin at high altitude; paper presents theoretical analysis of decompression of suddenly punctured pressurized cabin; cases of 1-, 2- and 3-compartment cabins are considered; equations developed may be used to calculate rate of air outflow, decompression time, required air inflow to cabin to increase decompression time, and pressure time histories of individual compartments.
