It is shown that flight load factors will probably decrease with altitude; conclusion reached that, in general, it is not possible to assume that diametral pressure loads are carried by hoop tension in skin unless careful investigation proves that there is no other structure capable of carrying these loads (this holds for fuselages of any cross section).
