The present invention relates to an engine for a ship. The engine for a ship comprises: a cylinder in which mixed fluid formed by mixing fuel with air is combusted; and a piston which reciprocates when the mixed fluid is combusted inside the cylinder. The piston comprises: a piston head which is located on the top of the piston and directly receives the combustion pressure of the mixed fluid; and a piston skirt which is located in the bottom of the piston, guides the reciprocating motion of the piston to stably move the piston along the inner surface of the cylinder, and is coated with a mixture having molybdenum (Mo) and iron (Fe). Therefore, the present invention reduces costs required for improving the durability and abrasion resistance of the piston skirt.

    본 발명은 연료와 공기가 혼합된 혼합유체가 연소되는 실린더, 및 상기 실린더 내부에서 상기 혼합유체가 연소됨에 따라 왕복 운동하는 피스톤을 포함하고, 상기 피스톤은 상기 피스톤의 상측에 위치하고 상기 혼합유체의 연소 압력을 직접 전달받는 피스톤 헤드, 및 상기 피스톤의 하측에 위치하고 상기 피스톤의 왕복 운동이 안정되게 상기 실린더 내면을 따라 안내하며 몰리브덴(Mo)에 철(Fe)이 첨가된 혼합물로 코팅(Coating)되는 피스톤 스커트를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 선박용 엔진에 관한 것이다.
