To track an obstacle candidate until it passes a crossing road without being affected by snow and rain even in a planar sweeping radar system and reduce the load of software processing.SOLUTION: In grouping processing, a group region count value is increased or reduced in accordance with a distance between a traced measurement point and a tracing-destination measurement point by tracing the sequence of pieces of measurement point data included in measurement data. When the group region count value reaches a grouping definite designated value, the measurement point data group during tracing is defined as one relating to the obstacle candidate. When the group region count value reaches a grouping completion designated value, the specification of the measurement point data group during tracing is completed. A difference in both designated values is made inversely proportional to the distance of the positions of the measurement point data group during tracing, the increase/decrease of the group region count value is limited between both designated values, and the increase unit of the group region count value is made larger than the decrease unit. The measurement data is handled as a polar coordinate so as to trace in one direction.     【課題】平面掃引レーダ方式でも雪や雨に乱されないで障害物候補が踏切道を進出するまで追跡できるようにする。ソフトウェア処理の負荷も軽減する。【解決手段】グルーピング処理に際し、測定データに含まれている測定点データの連なりを辿りながら辿り済み測定点と辿り先の測定点との距離の大小に応じて群域カウント値を増減するとともに、群域カウント値がグルーピング確定指定値に達すると辿り中の測定点データ群を障害物候補に係るものとして確定し、群域カウント値がグルーピング完了指定値に達すると辿り中の測定点データ群の特定を完了する。両指定値の差を辿り中の測定点データ群の位置の遠近に反比例させ、群域カウント値の増減を両指定値の間に限定し、群域カウント値の増加単位を減少単位より大きくする。測定データを極座標のまま取り扱い、一方向に辿る。障害物候補に係る測定点データ群に1点ずつ代表点を決める。【選択図】 図3
