PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railroad crossing obstacle sensing device capable of reliably sensing even an obstacle in which circumstances such as height, area or size are changed.SOLUTION: An arithmetic processing unit 20 includes: a detection means 21 for detecting a sensing level inputted from a sensing means in time series by using two thresholds of a lower threshold and an upper threshold with respect to the sensing level at every prescribed interval on an obstacle sensing region of the sensing means 10; a storage means 22 for storing a detection result of the detection means in time series; and a judgement means 23 which judges that, when a detection result on an arbitrary interval of the obstacle sensing region of a present period is the upper threshold or more, there is an obstacle and continues such judgement that there is an obstacle when a detection result on an arbitrary interval of the obstacle sensing region is the lower threshold or more and is less than the upper threshold and a detection result on the same interval of the obstacle sensing region of the just preceding period is the upper threshold or more, or when the detection result on the same interval of the obstacle sensing region is retroactively determined in time series and can be attained to the upper threshold or more without passing through a region less than the lower threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】高さ、面積または大きさ等の状況が変化した障害物も確実に検知できる踏切障害物検知装置を提供する。【解決手段】演算処理装置20は、検知手段10の障害物検知領域の所定区間ごとにおける検知レベルに対して下側閾値と上側閾値との二つの閾値を用いて、検知手段から入力される検知レベルを時系列的に検出する検出手段21と、検出手段の検出結果を時系列的に記憶する記憶手段22と、現在の周期の障害物検知領域の任意の区間の検出結果が上側閾値以上である場合は障害物があると判定し、障害物検知領域の任意の区間の検出結果が下側閾値以上かつ上側閾値未満であるとき、その直前の周期の障害物検知領域の同一区間の検出結果が上側閾値以上である場合、もしくは、障害物検知領域の同一区間の検出結果を時系列で遡及していき、下側閾値未満を経由することなく上側閾値以上に到達可能な場合は、障害物があるとの判定を継続する判定手段23とを有する。【選択図】図1
