PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle and a control method therefor such that while regeneration efficiency in a high speed travel is improved as compared with the conventional art, a fuel consumption is reduced to improve fuel economy without stopping a steering assist in an auto-cruising mode and further while keeping a charged state of a battery within a proper range.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle comprises a speed reduction mechanism 30 which connects a propeller shaft 25 to a rotary shaft 32 of a motor generator 33 and a driving shaft 46 of a second power steering pump 45 respectively, and a switching device which switches a supply source for a power steering fluid to a steering unit 53 to the second power steering pump 45, and a controller 80 is configured to perform control to predict a steep downhill road L1, to select an inertial travel on the steep downhill road L1 and also to select one of an assist travel and a motor travel until a starting pint B of the inertial travel is reached, and to change a charged state Ce of a battery 35 to a low charged state Cl.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】従来よりも高速走行時における回生効率を向上しつつ、オートクルーズモードにおける操舵アシストを停止することなく、かつバッテリーの充電状態を適正範囲に維持しながら燃料消費量を削減して燃費を向上するハイブリッド車両及びその制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】プロペラシャフト25をモータージェネレーター33の回転軸32及び第2パワステポンプ45の駆動軸46のそれぞれに接続する減速機構30と、ステアリングユニット53へのパワステフルードの供給源を第2パワステポンプ45に切り換える切換装置とを備え、制御装置80を、急降坂路L1を予測し、急降坂路L1では惰性走行を選択すると共にその惰性走行の開始地点Bに到達するまでにアシスト走行又はモータ走行のどちらか一方を選択して、開始地点Bにおけるバッテリー35の充電状態Ceを低充電状態Clにする制御を行う構成にした。【選択図】図1
