The invention provides an under-actuated climbing forest disease and insect pest monitoring robot which comprises a robot body and forest disease and insect pest monitoring equipment arranged on the robot body, and the robot body comprises a telescopic structure and two holding manipulators. One holding manipulator is connected to the upper end of the telescopic structure, the other holding manipulator is connected to the lower end of the telescopic structure, and the holding manipulator connected to the lower end of the telescopic structure can ascend along with the telescopic structure. The invention aims to provide the forest pest and disease damage monitoring robot which is used for carrying monitoring equipment to climb to a tree to monitor under-actuated climbing of a forest so as to solve the problem of manual tree climbing.
