The invention discloses a tree climbing robot, which relates to the technical field of robots, and comprises two groups of clasping plates for clasping a tree trunk; a driving assembly; first piston plates are arranged in the first piston cylinders; the driving assembly drives the first piston plate to slide in the first piston cylinder; the climbing assembly is arranged between the two groups of holding plates; the plurality of driving wheels are arranged among the plurality of second piston cylinders, are connected with the plurality of second piston plates through connecting assemblies and are used for driving the plurality of driving wheels to move horizontally; when the driving assembly drives the two sets of holding plates to hold tightly, the first piston plate is driven to slide forwards in the first piston barrel, the second piston barrel is in negative pressure, and the driving wheel is driven to horizontally move outwards to be separated from the trunk. The working state of the robot can be switched, and the overall stability is ensured. And compared with a wheeled robot, the stability of the robot during tree obstacle cleaning work is improved. And compared with a clamping type robot, the robot has good stability in the climbing process.
