The invention provides a robot steering control method and a robot chassis, and relates to the technical field of robot control. The method comprises the steps of generating a scene trigger signal for representing a current scene where the wheeled robot is located through a preset detection strategy; when a control chip of the wheeled robot receives a scene triggering signal, the steering mode of the robot is switched into a target steering mode corresponding to the current scene, the target steering mode comprises any one of an Ackerman mode corresponding to a wide scene, a differential mode corresponding to a middle area scene and an omnidirectional mode corresponding to a narrow scene. Therefore, the wheeled robot can flexibly select the steering mode for motion control based on the located scene, and the problems that the robot steering control mode is single, and the steering mode cannot be flexibly adjusted based on the scene can be solved.
