The present disclosure relates to a method of controlling a vehicle combination (100) comprising a first vehicle unit (102), a second vehicle unit (104) and an articulated coupling (11) connecting the first vehicle unit and the second vehicle unit to each other, the method comprises: determining (S1) coupling force parameters (Fxc, Fyc, Fzc, Mxc) of the articulated coupling (110) based on a combination of motion-related parameters obtained from the first vehicle unit (102) and the second vehicle unit (104); selecting (S2) an operating envelope (700) for the combination of vehicles based on the coupling force parameter; and controlling (S3) the vehicle combination (100) to operate within the operating envelope (700).
