The steel plate carrying robot comprises a cross beam, racks are arranged on the right portion of the front side and the left portion of the rear side of the cross beam, supporting seats are slidably connected to the left side and the right side of the lower portion of the cross beam, and supports are arranged on the lower portions of the front side and the rear side of each supporting seat through spiral lifters; the lower portion of the side, close to the support, of each support is provided with a fixing arm, and the outer portion of the side, away from the support, of each support is provided with a driving hook arm. A driving electric telescopic rod acts to enable a driving hook arm to clamp a plate edge until the plate edge is stressed by a certain force, then a crown block lifts the plate edge by about 200mm, an auxiliary electric telescopic rod acts to enable an auxiliary hook arm to be a certain distance away from the plate edge, and the auxiliary hook electric telescopic rod acts to enable a cushion block to be attached to a steel plate; the driving electric telescopic rod drives the driving hook arm to be clamped to a certain position, a crown block is used for hoisting, the unhooking phenomenon is effectively prevented, and the safety coefficient is high.
