The invention discloses a control method and device of a city augmentation device and a range-extended electric vehicle, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a navigation route and road condition information of a current vehicle; according to the navigation route, determining a controlled road section requiring electric driving in the route, and according to the road condition information, determining a congested road section meeting a preset congestion degree in the route; determining a starting node of the current vehicle entering a range extender mode according to the controlled road section and the congested road section, so as to control the range extender of the current vehicle to enter a range extender forced start REV mode before entering the congested road section and/or the controlled road section, and/or to control the range extender of the current vehicle to enter a range extender forced start REV mode after entering the congested road section and/or the controlled road section. And a range extender of the current vehicle is controlled to enter a forced pure electric driving EV mode. Therefore, the problem that a driver is complex to control the range extender when meeting emission or noise control and traffic jam road sections is solved, the traffic jam road sections are judged and recognized in advance, and the driving convenience and comfort are effectively improved when the driver passes through the traffic jam road sections.
