The invention particularly relates to an extended-range electric vehicle range extender and belongs to the technical field of extended-range new energy automobiles. The extended-range electric vehicle range extender comprises a flywheel disc, a generator shaft, a gasoline engine power output crankshaft, a torsion damper and a spline shaft, wherein the flywheel disc is arranged on the gasoline engine power output crankshaft; the torsion damper is arranged on the flywheel disc; the first end of the spline shaft is connected with the torsion damper; the generator shaft is connected with the second end of the spline shaft. Compared with the prior art, the extended-range electric vehicle range extender has the benefits as follows: rigid connection between the output shaft of a gasoline engine and the output shaft of a generator is changed into flexible connection through the torsion damper, and strength and rigidity can be respectively verified by the crankshaft and the generator shaft, so that design requirements are reduced; meanwhile, circumferential torsional vibration of the generator and the gasoline engine can be reduced, and the scheme that the torsion damper of a coupling in the axial direction is adopted for connection, so that internal stress of the shaft is eliminated.
