The invention belongs to the technical field of railway braking, and discloses a railway vehicle runaway braking system which comprises a main control subsystem and a braking subsystem which are in communication connection. The braking subsystem is used for carrying out runaway braking on a vehicle exceeding a parking device on a railway track based on an iron shoe structure in cascade relay connection according to the vehicle information; and the main control subsystem is used for monitoring the working condition of the braking subsystem and generating a control signal to uniformly control the braking subsystem. The problems that in the prior art, an independently-arranged anti-slip iron shoe is low in anti-slip effect, low in timeliness of a manual mode, low in action efficiency and low in safety are solved.
