The invention relates to a combined multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle system and a control method thereof. The combined multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle system comprises at least two unmanned aerial vehicle units distributed at intervals in the vertical direction and at least one set of fixing assemblies used for fixing the unmanned aerial vehicle units. The fixing assemblies are arranged between every two adjacent unmanned aerial vehicle units so as to maintain the distance between the propellers of any unmanned aerial vehicle unit and the propellers of other unmanned aerial vehicle units. The fixing assemblies comprise a plurality of connecting pieces used for limiting the two adjacent unmanned aerial vehicle units, and the connecting pieces are circumferentially distributed around the connecting line between the two adjacent unmanned aerial vehicle units. The multiple unmanned aerial vehicle units are combined and fixed through the connecting pieces, a laminated structure is formed in the vertical direction, the combined multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle system is formed, and the loading capacity of the combined multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle system is multiple times that of an original single unmanned aerial vehicle unit.
