It appears that larger market can be generated for passenger-utility type vehicles if four-wheel drive is offered as option; constructional details of conventional four-wheel drive power trains; description of trains developed to minimize vehicle height and maintain independent suspension, such as swing axle assembly employed by Kaiser Jeep Corp in Wagoneer vehicle; independent carrier assemblies, and split "V" front wheel drive; in passenger-utility type vehicles where two- and four-wheel drive versions must be offered, this power train is most desirable; prototype vehicle installation is shown.
