If in pure Vehicular Ad Hoc Network like ITS-G5 the number of equipped vehicular is insufficient low, e.g. low market penetration rate in the early years, in urban areas or during night time, the limited communication range can lead to separated clusters. This paper presents a possible solution by adding LTE and an addressing mechanism based on IPv6- Multicast, which allows a position-dependent and dynamic addressing of road users to overcome these limitations. Here the initial geographical position of a message is directly incorporated into the IPv6 multicast address. This allows not only an effective pre-filtering on the receiving end but also a routing in the backbone. By using existing eCall components such as GPS and wireless modules, no additional special hardware is required. This cost reduction as well as the reduced complexity makes this solution a highly competitive solution for Car-to-Car (C2C) communication.
