Train dynamically following headway models are set up by analyzing the principle of Combinatorial Control of the Trains Velocities System (CCTVS) of Intelligent Railway System (IRS). The variation law of following headway for trains of different kinds and velocities is studied. Then, carrying capacity of parallel train schedule is calculated with analytical method. Using the simulation system, lots of non-parallel train schedule plans with various kinds of trains and buffer time of Xi'andong-Baoji section are made. Finally, the effects for improving the carrying capacity of CCTVS are compared with that of fixed automation block system (FABS).
