A new, integrated approach is presented for testing a fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) monocoque concept of a car side doors with integrated measures for occupant protection. Main measures for occupant protection are integrated energy absorption modules. Stabilization of thin-walled structures is achieved. In case of a passenger-car side door, the approach can be realized by means of joining panels to a compact structure or by paneling of frame structures.
