In the paper, it was studied how temperature on automotive brake disc influences on thermoelastic instability condition. In order to study transient thermal behavior in the automotive disc brake experimental method and the finite element method were utilized. Brake judder is academically called as thermoelastic instability and practically examined by periodic hot spots occurred around automotive disc. For the study a brake dynamometer was constructed in the laboratory and many instability conditions were found through the experiments. As a result, lowest vehicle speed was found to linearly decrease with increase of disc temperatures as far as fade phenomenon happened.
