The T312BR transmission represents a modern driveline component for high speed diesel multiple-units, capable of cost-effective operation at a high level of efficiency in both the medium and high speed ranges. The integrated retarder satisfies the requirement of high speed multiple-units: these require a dynamic brake which can be steplessly controlled, used for extended downhill braking as well as retardation and which is also incorporated in the wheel slip protection system. The electronic transmission control unit also offers additional functions such as diagnosis and monitoring of operating data, all of which benefit the vehicle operator.
