In case of an automotive assembly plant, whose daily production affords considerable changes in lot size and products in the assembly line very often, the existing plant production logistics method 'KANBAN' reaches its limits and an alternative method for an in-plant parts distribution system is required. One solution is Scheduled Package Delivering System which delivers all necessitate parts in several packages to the corresponding line side with some adequate lead time for installation. For this material handling, electronic controlled, manned towing battery vehicle is useful, because of features such as flexible relocation, slow speed control operation, low noise and no exhaust-gas. This paper introduces this in-plant parts distribution and mainly the relating towing battery vehicles.
