The number of diesel engines working with exhaust gas turbo-blowers is impressive and still increasing; however the number of these engines equipped with whirl combustion chambers is small. Some aspects of the design and the use of four-stroke high speed diesel engines with whirl combustion chamber type Ricardo will be dealt with. The suitability of these engines for normal and high pressure charging by means of exhaust gas turbo-blowers appears from the results gained.
