This paper describes the design and development of a low bandwidth active suspension system for application to luxury motor vehicles. The design of the hardware and the control structure is discussed and its predicted performance evaluated. Predicted performance is compared to vehicle measurements. The results demonstrate that the system achieves a high level of performance and refinement from components, the majority of which are manufactured using proven automotive technology.
