Aerodynamics has an influence on various aspects of vehicle ride and handling but is most noticeably encountered in windy conditions. The principle aerodynamic parameter with an influence on the sensitivity of a vehicle to a crsoswind is yawing moment, which is largely shape related. Wind tunnel tests using simple models and full scale vehicles have been conducted to examine the effect of recent trends in vehicle shape, which have primarily been employed to generate a reduction in aerodynamic drag, on yawing moment.
