In this paper a method is presented for the design of vehicle practical active suspensions based on the arbitrary selected system measurements. By using this method, various suboptimal active controllers of the different structures are investigated. The results show that by adding system acceleration feedback to the active controller, it is possible to avoid the troublesome problem of state measurement previously encountered in optimal control.
