Techniques for modelling the low frequency dynamic behaviour of rolling tyres both as linear systems and non-linear systems, from experimental data acquired on an electrohydraulic tyre test facility, are described. Results are presented for the comparison of experimental and simulated results for single-direction excitation of the tyre in the radial and longitudinal as well as simultaneous excitation in both directions. The results illustrate the superior accuracy of the non-linear tyre models.
