The use of a tool which automates the analysis of the MIL-STD-2165 checklist is discussed. Testability analysis benefits from a common checklist database, additional justification fields, sorting high/low scores, and automation of report generation. Practically all new defense programs now require testability analysis and documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-2165. The 2165 checklist tool has eased the labor-intensive tasks and created a standard methodology when performing the checklist analysis process. This tool has been used on several military programs and has resulted in significant labor and quality improvements.
