The computer modeling of a dual-trailing wire antenna (DTWA) on a TACAMO aircraft is described. This model is used to study the impact of the shape of the DTWA on the impedance of the antenna and the impact of this impedance variation on the high-power transmit set (HPTS) antenna couple capabilities (e.g., the antenna impedance matching range and the power amplifier loading). Parameters that affect the shape of the DTWA, such as phase of the flight, weight, altitude, velocity, and orbit radius, are utilized by the model. Results of impedance matching range and power amplifier loading comparisons are presented.
