A description is given of the progress of a research program that is addressing the application of knowledge-based techniques to resource planning and replanning for naval command and control. The domain of resource planning in this context is defined together with some specific examples. The reasons for a knowledge-based approach are outlined and the results of the three-year research program are reported.
