The manufacturing aspects of the industrial war effort from 1940-5 are addressed. The particular characteristics of producing military equipment, including security issues, are examined. The manufacture of airplanes and ships, which took the largest share of resources, is discussed. The German V-1 and V-2 rockets are described.
