An Anti-Lock Brake (ALB) controller incorporating digital electronics technology for passenger cars has been developed. The controller employs a custom made LSI that measures the wheel velocity and a single-chip microcomputer that operates in dual-channel construction to control the brake pressure and check for failure. The digital ALB controller is less expensive and smaller than analog ALB controller, yet it is far more reliable.
