The Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMTS) being developed by Litton Computer Services is based upon a distributed network of TANDEM peer processors supporting an integrated database and application software. REMIS will enhance the front-end design of new weapons systems and increase the readiness and sustainability of existing USAF weapon systems by improving the availability, accuracy, and flow of essential equipment maintenance information. It will eliminate the current batch generation of large volumes of 'push' paper products. All requisite information will be maintained in an integrated database, immediately accessible to Air Force managers worldwide be both weapon system and major equipment category. Reporting systems currently used will be replaced and their functions incorporated into REMIS. No current capability will be lost or degraded.
