Electric drives become more and more popular for vehicles, beginning with small cars up to high load trucks. To get a high efficiency and in order to use the resulting heat, it is necessary to "harvest" the heat direct at the source. For this, heat sinks have to be integrated into the electric drives. Because of the application, the heat sinks should only add less weight to the whole system and Aluminium-alloys are the materials of choice. As process for joining of the disc shaped heat sinks, diffusion bonding without additional filler material is in use. In the paper the integrated heat sinks as well as the joining process are presented.
