This paper presents a new approach to modelling the geometry of motorcycle tyres with a multibody code. Each tyre is modelled, from a kinematic point of view, with a subsystem constituted of two joined links. The subsystem allows us to locate the theoretical contact point between the tyre and the road, for every wheel attitude, and to apply the tyre-road interaction as considered in the Pacejka 'magic formula'. This wheel submodel is implemented in a complete motorcycle multibody model to evaluate the kinematic and dynamic motorcycle behaviours for different tyre profiles.
