This paper proposes the new cable-type EPS (Electronic Power Steering) system with an active steering torque control using the driving diagram. This diagram expresses a state of vehicle motion when a driver steers, using the front wheel angle and difference between front wheel side slip angle and rear wheel side slip angle. The torque control applies the steering torque to lead the vehicle motion for a stable state utilizing the driving diagram As simulation results, effectiveness of corrective steering assisted by the active controlled steering torque in this EPS system for recovery from spinning on a slippery road surface has been clarified.
