Simulation models of two-axle and bogie freight wagons with link suspension are described. The influence of some wheel-rail contact and suspension parameters on the hunting behaviour of these wagons is discussed. A theory that explains of the observed running behaviour is proposed. Finally, suggestions for improvements of the running behaviour with different types of damping are made.
