BMW's Standard Core is a highly scalable software framework serving as a base for ECU development in automotive applications. It integrates OSEK/VDX standards together with extensions and commonly used library functions developed by BMW. Embedded in the development process, the communication matrix is individually configured for each ECU in the network from an output file of a central data base. This article outlines technical as well as structural aspects and reports first experiences.
