The Autonomous Systems Laboratory (ASL) at the University of Hawaii has developed the semi-autonomous underwater vehicle for interventions missions (SAUVIM). SAUVIM role is to dive, locate, tag, and retrieve submerged military artifacts in specific test ranges in the Pacific Ocean. The mission task is predetermined with the mapped data. The vehicle design and vehicle software implementations are discussed.
