Described is a potentiometric system for measurement of a 25-ohm platinum capsule-type standard over the range 20-100 k, a germanium standard over the range 4-20 k, and 1380-ohm platinum test sensors over the range 4-100 k. By means of function and output switches thermometer identification, thermometer resistances, and static data are read out automatically on a typewriter. Control of temperature to 0.01 k and optimum uniformity between thermometers is required. Other requirements are overall calibration accuracy of no worse than &0.2 k, with design targets of &0.005 k uncertainty from temperature as determined by the standards.
