Gaseous and particulate emissions data is presented from six heavy-duty diesel vehicles operated over the chassis version of the EPA engine transient cycle. Each engine was removed from the vehicle and then tested over the engine transient cycle. The effect of inertia on exhaust emissions was determined with a single-axle and a tandem-axle diesel tractor. Comparison of engine and chassis emission rates are presented in g/km and g/kg fuel.
