The removal or reduction of the water content by dehydration will prevent freezing in measuring and regulating equipment. If dehydration is not installed or found to be inadequate, heaters and/or inhibitors will be required to prevent hydrate formation if the conditions contributing to hydrate formation exist. Good engineering practice used during design and installation of facilities, combined with good operating and maintainence schedules will further reduce the occurrence of freezes. Safe working practices and company policy must be observed at all times.
