Two groups of methods for grillage calculations of the double bottom of the cargo ship are analysed. The analytical methods of bending equalizing, bearer on the elastic support, energy method, the Cross's method of step-by-step approximation and the method of the orthotropic plate are compared with the matrix methods: method of transferable matrixes, force and shifting method, and finite elemente method. The mentioned methods were applied and evaluated. The results of this examination are shown in diagrams of deflection of the center girder, deflection curve of the floor, and their strength diagrams. The result of the work shows that the finite elemente method gives the best results. (Jarc)
