Requirements of car makers for 3-dimensional trimming are explained. We had to consider the characteristics of plasma on the way to automate the trimming of car body parts with robots. Algorithm to control the plasma cutting robot mainly includes following 3 techniques; extremely smoothed interpolation, control of travelling speed, and compensation of deviation due to the dynamics.
