Comparative data using airborne and settled methods of measuring particulate contamination have been obtained from various workstations associated with the manufacture and integration of ESA spacecraft. This data, the instrumentation and sampling techniques for measuring settled particulate contamination, and the need for basing a clean room standard on the values obtained from settled particulate contamination measurements are presented and discussed.
