The Navy's AALC Program is an advanced development effort currently focused on the test and evaluation of two air cushion landing craft, JEFF (A) and JEFF (B). A basic AALC Program objective is to provide the essential technology to support a low risk follow-on acquisition of production craft designated: Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC). Two distinct Navy communities, with differing perspectives and priorities, are involed: R a. D (AALC) and Engineering (LCAC). To meet its objective, the AALC Program, worling closely with the LCAC engineering team, has introduced an innovative process of technology transfer that is designed to insure that the technical data base, vital to LCAC acquisition, is properly defined, structure, and documented.
