This paper describes North Sea experience of sacrificial anode performance where testing of anodes prior to design should have been a requirement. It also details various test techniques, including advantages and disadvantages. Standardized test techniques have been proposed on both sides of the Atlantic, and the tests are discussed. Finally the paper discusses the need for quality control other than electrochemical. (Wassmann)
