The demonstrated performance of the JEFF (B) is presented in the areas of tethered testing, overwater and overland trials, and LSD interface. Results of tether tests indicate that static thrust measured is somewhat lower than predicted and that the bow thrusters influence the flow through the props. Pitch and roll stiffness is as predicted. Overwater power and resistance are slightly less than predicted, and demonstrated range is very close to the 200 n.m. specification. The craft has adequate power to accelerate over hump and adequate forces to meet deceleration and turning specifications. The craft has interfaced effectively with the well decks of Amphibious Ships. In summary, there is every indication that the JEFF (B) will meet or exceed design performance specifications. (Wassmann)
