Nonlinear models are developed for the handlung-characteristics of submerged vehicles. This is accomplished by use of a cascade of a nonlinear gain, custom designed to fit the vehicle's saturation characteristics, and a linear transfer function. The latter is obtained by application of 'GRAM Identifier' upon the vehicle's transient response. Validity over typical speed ranges and control surface excursions is demonstrated. (Peters)
