Recently IHI delivered the first vessel of its 'FRIENDSHIP' series and is now developing the 'FREEDOM MK-II' series adding to its 'F-series' vessels. Both standards vessels incorporate with many characteristic design features such as less fuel costs, less maintenance and easy operations to overcome the difficulties of recent shipping world trends. The 'Integrated Propulsion System' is one of the most remarkable features among them. The design philosophy and some details of this system together with related engine room system are given in this paper including the trial results of 'M/V FALCON', the first vessel of the 'FRIENDSHIP' series.
